Squirtles Commercial Sandy: Hey Pam!
Pam: Hi, ummm do I know you?
Sandy: Well yeah, it’s me, Sandy.
Pam: WOWW!!You look AMAZING!! Sorry, I didn’t even recognize you. What have you been doing?
Sandy: Eating Candy
Pam: Candy?????
Sandy: Yes, Squirtles, Haven’t you tried them yet??
Pam: No, what are they??
Sandy: Well. Squirtles are these new candies that are designed to make you look younger.
Pam: Wait how is that possible?
Sandy: There are 7 different colors that each trigger a certain aspect of youth. Like the red, for instance, just got rid of all those unwanted wrinkles I had.
Pam: Wow!! I need those; where on earth did you find these ingenious candies?
Sandy: Well they are all over now. I found these at target, but I’m pretty sure you can get them at wal-mart too.
Pam: Were they expensive?
Sandy: No, not at all. One box cost $1.50 or you could just get a large container with 10 boxes in each for $11.95.
Pam: Awesome, now I definitely have to go get some!
Sandy: Whoa, it looks like I’m already out.
Pam: RACE YOU THERE!!!!
Today marks a very important day in history for women all across the world. It is the beginning of National Women’s Week! During this week we are recognizing the goals and achievements made by women throughout history. In society today unlike the past generations, women can now be viewed as equivalent to men. Most women take this opportunity for granted. If it were not for the brave women who have paved the way before us, we would not have this great advantage that we have today. Women such as Loretta Perfectus Walsh, who was the first woman Yeoman in the Navy, along with Lucy Brewer, who was the first woman to enter the Marine Corps, have made it possible for all women to enter military fields without discrimination. Through the daring acts made by these women throughout the century, women of today are allowed to experience the same rights and privileges as men. In some work forces women hold higher rankings than most men do. Back in the 1960s women would have never had the opportunity to do so. This past year a woman even ran for the presidential election. Just by running in this election, which is normally dominated by men, shows how much women have came up through the centuries. There are many activities and speeches throughout the week commemorating women who have changed the history of how women today live.
