Featuring Amelia Earhart and Ruth Nichols
This week is National Women’s History week, as we celebrate the lives and accomplishments of women, we recognize many women that have impacted the livesof us today.Today we especially recognize two very special women, Amelia Earhart and Ruth Nichols; both have had very much success in the flight and aviation industry.
Amelia Earhart was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.By the age of 20 she had taken her first flight lesson, and six months later she had saved enough money to buy her very fist airplane.She was awarded a gold medal by the National Geographic Society.There were more windows and opportunities opened to women because of Amelia, but also because another influential woman named Ruth Nichols.Ruth has received more than 35 women’s aviation awards and records throughout her lifetime, she is known as the first women to fly a commercial passenger airplane.
It is because of women like Amelia, Ruth, and many others that we have the opportunities and rights that we do today.This week we acknowledge these women and their hard work and determination that they have put into their lives to make this world a better place for us.
My favorite invention is makeup because i love makeup and it makes people look so much better.
