Title of Course:English III Teacher:Mrs. Amanda Vidrine General Description of Course: This course is designed to teach the student the proper use of grammar and writing.It is also designed to expose the students to various elements in American literary works such as the short story, novel, play, and biography/autobiography. As we go through the different literary works, we will discuss the various time periods in which the works were written and the effects the time periods had on the writings.For the class we will use the literature book entitled The Language of Literature, but there will also be assigned novels provided by the school. Major Goals of the Course: 1.The student will apply key elements of grammar. 2.The student will define and apply various vocabulary terms. 3.The student will write various forms of essays. 4.The student will read and interpret various forms of literary work. 5.The student will take part in projects which will require the student to analyze and evaluate characters, settings, and events.
